SIDDHARTHA LAL

MANAGING DIRECTOR & CEO, EICHER MOTORS LTD.

Siddhartha Lal, is the Managing Director and CEO of Eicher Motors Ltd (EML) and is a member of the Board of Directors of EML and VE Commercial Vehicles. EML is the parent company of Royal Enfield, global leader in the middleweight motorcycle segment (250cc - 750cc), and also owns one half of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) Limited - a joint venture with the Volvo group. VECV manufactures and distributes Eicher trucks globally, and assembles and distributes Volvo trucks and buses in India. Over the last 18 years, Siddhartha has been at the helm of EML, steering the growth and development of both Royal Enfield and VE Commercial Vehicles 

Since 1999, when he joined the Eicher Group, Siddhartha has been instrumental in reviving the Royal Enfield brand. He has been deeply involved in the strategic realignment of Royal Enfield’s product portfolio and shaping the brand and the business over the last 25 years, which has led to its phenomenal global success. His close engagement with the commercial vehicle business of VECV over the last 20 years has resulted in VECV emerging as a leading, and fastest growing commercial vehicle player in the industry. 

Siddhartha’s strategic and astute long term approach to business has led to the sustained growth of both the companies, and has greatly strengthened stakeholders' trust and involvement in Eicher Motors Ltd. Thishasresultedintheemergenceofarobustandformidableorganizationthatisstronglyrooted in its foundations, and at the same time intelligently diversifying to cater to the aspirations of a global consumer.

At Royal Enfield, Siddhartha has been keenly interested in guiding the product and brand strategy for the organization and in taking the brand and business to global audiences. The resurgence of Royal Enfield in the early 2000’s, and the position it holds today in the global middleweight motorcycle segment is an outcome of the razor-sharp focus and patient nurturing of the business over the last two decades. 

An alumnus of The Doon School and St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, Siddhartha holds a Master’s Degree in Automotive Engineering from University of Leeds and completed his Mechanical Engineering from Cranfield University. Needless to say, he is an avid motorcyclist, and, loves riding out to new destinations and personally rides and tests every new Royal Enfield motorcycle.

B. GOVINDARAJAN || CEO, ROYAL ENFIELD & WHOLETIME DIRECTOR, EICHER MOTORS LTD.

B. Govindarajan has spent more than two decades at Eicher Motors Ltd and at Royal Enfield, and is currently the CEO of Royal Enfield, and Wholetime Director on the Board of EML since May 2022. In additiontothishealsoservesasEML’s DirectorontheBoardofStarkFuture,whereEMLhasacquired an equity stake. 

Previously, Govindarajan had been serving as the Executive Director of Royal Enfield since August 2021, and prior to that, he was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the company since 2013. 

In his role as CEO, Royal Enfield, Govindarajan leads the entire Royal Enfield business and is also responsible for spearheading the electric mobility plans for Royal Enfield.

A veteran in the automotive industry, Govindarajan has more than 34 years of experience, 24 of these years, he has spent with Royal Enfield leading the organization at various stages through several critical projects.

Govindarajan’s association with Eicher Motors Ltd. dates back to 1995 and has been in two stints. He has been responsible for several roles and has worked across verticals. At Royal Enfield he was responsible for the entire manufacturing activity and the implementation of the Lean and Quality Management Systems. He has been instrumental in implementing extensive cost management in sourcing and operations. 

In his present stint, he joined Royal Enfield in June 2011 as the Senior Vice President - Industry and was the Chief Operating Officer heading the entire technical organization at Royal Enfield from 2013 to 2022. During this time he has led several turnkey projects for Royal Enfield and has been instrumental in growing and expanding the company’s manufacturing facilities, and in bringing a paradigm shift in product quality, delivery and development processes and also played a significant role in elevating the company’s business performance. Under his leadership Royal Enfield has established Technology centres in the UK and in India. He has also been the driving force behind expanding Royal Enfield’s global footprint and led the setting up of 4 subsidiaries and 5 CKD plants for the brand. 

At Royal Enfield he has led the development of several key motorcycles including the likes of the Himalayan, the Interceptor and Continental GT - 650 Twins, the Super Meteor 650 as well as the more recent J-platform based Hunter, Meteor, Classic and the Bullet.

He received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management.

Mario Alvisi
Chief Growth Officer - Electric Vehicles, Royal Enfield

With close to two decades of experience, Mario leads the entire commercial division of Royal Enfield’s Electric Vehicle business including brand, product strategy, service and business development.

He comes with immense experience in the motorcycle business, and has a penchant for thinking differently and building new businesses. In his previous role, he has worked with Ducati for close to 11 years, where he was managing diverse roles including product, sales and brand. As Brand Director at Ducati, he played an instrumental role in launching the Ducati Scrambler worldwide. He innovatively led the way with branding, product strategy, communication and go-to-market strategy.

In addition, Mario worked with Alfa Romeo as Marketing Director, Abarth as Head of Global Brand and with Deux Ex Machina as VP Sales and Marketing North America. In his last assignment, Mario was the CCO of Lift Foils. Lift created the first e-Foil electric hydrofoil surfboard in 2018, and is the global leader in the e-Foil market.

Mario has a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with an Executive MBA.
